“Note that Cistus eo is the product of steam distillation of the entire plant and is liquid. Labdanum is made from the gum that comes to the surface when the plant is immersed in boiling water. Those waxes and resins are steam distilled or in this case solvent extracted.

This oil has a heavy and subtle smoky scent that is valuable in perfumery. Slight pine resin, a bit of bourbon and maple too. It is sometimes marketed as synthetic ambergris and is a fixative. Used to aid in healing of inflamed skin, acne and boils. Also used as a general tonic for skin conditions, wrinkles and mature skin. As an inhalant to ease coughs, colds and bronchitis. Labdanum is not a liquid oil. It is thick and viscous, creamy and not sticky. It can be heated and diluted in a base oil or alcohol. Can be used in a duftlamp, not a diffusor.”
