“This blend of Oakmoss and Hina came out of some work I did recently re-evaluating procedures and products and developing some new things. Like most self employed people,the overlap between work and personal is almost total. If I make a change in one area, the other is changed too. This work I was doing was consuming, but I was easily distracted and derailed from it by so many connected and secondary things that would come up. ‘Back to the beginning’ was like a mantra for me. I had to remind myself what my initial ideas and intentions were, to get back to the kernel of it all. This blend helped me remember that beginning and narrowed my focus on the task at hand. This blend is a very personal one for me because I have such strong associations with these Oak and Earth smells..

Growing up with a wood stove for heat, managing firewood is a year round activity. Dirt was year round too I suppose. Garden dirt, river dirt, dirt on dogs feet. So much formative time spent
with the smells of Oak and moss and lichen and earth. Years and years ago I came to work and was told, ‘Come see what happened last night’. We went out back past the organized roses and citrus, through an opening in the rowdy overgrown-ness at the property line to come out into a greenbelt where an Oak had fallen over. It was lying off to the side of a wall of roots and dirt and bowl in the ground. This big bowl was warm and smelled great and was sending out some other thing. We called it Earth Vibe ”
