Grapeseed Oil

Vitus vinifera
Tiny tiny grapeseeds!

Grapeseed oil has long been used as a gourmet salad and cooking oil. This oil is light and has almost no scent. It is a nice choice for massage because it provides a nice 'glide' and allows for the scent of the added essential oil to come through.
Grapeseed is up to 76% linoleic acid, this omega-6 essential fatty acid is very important in maintaining a healthy barrier and passage function of the skin. That beautiful green color means chlorophyll and vitamins and minerals. Natural and unrefined grapeseed oil contains proanthocyanidin, making the oil antioxidant and slightly astringent. Proanthocyanidins play a part in keeping connective tissue in the body healthy and stable as well as being anti-mutagenic. Proanthocyanidins become anthocyanidins, those become cyanidins and Cyanidin is associated with all those blues and purples in the plant world.
