Lavender hybrids are indicated by the X in the botanical name, a cross between angustifolia (officinalis) and latifolia to increase production. This particular cross, growing conditions and distillation produces an oil that is about equal in esters (linalyl acetate) and alcohols (linalol). It is bacteriacidal and antiseptic. Although there is a honey sweetness to initially, the strong scent and is not as sweet or floral as the Bulgarian or Fine French. It can be used for all Lavender applications, but I think of this Lavender for cleaning scrapes and other owies. It goes on a bandage and into a balm that I make.
