Tarragon

May be called French Tarragon. Books of herb lore and magic might call Tarragon 'Little Dragon'. The smell is like Anise and a little like basil. Green and pungent. This essential oil of Artemisia dracunculus is from flowering plants grown and steam distilled in Hungary.

Tarragon is very high in Methyl chavicol. High doses are toxic. It is safe in very low doses, less than .5% of a blend. Very antispasmodic. Used to decongest and dry the respiratory system. Do not use if you have a bleeding disorder or are taking anticoagulants, the methyl eugenol may inhibit clotting. Use in a base oil or cream applied to the abdomen to treat lower intestinal pain and cramping, gas and bloating.
