Ginger

From plants grown Organically in Madagascar. Not to be confused with Galangal, which is known as Chinese ginger or ginger root. Ginger is a powerful tonic for the entire digestive system. It is an anti-emetic. Great when rubbed into tight neck and shoulders to decongest and ease complaints associated with the common cold and flu. Increases circulation and raises body temperature. Possible irritant and does appear to be photo-toxic.

This oil is a new addition to my offerings. I had previously carried a Ginger oil from dried root.

It is certainly a more gentle oil. Doesn't trigger a cough reflex like the oil from the dried root. This oil has a softer, greener, fresher smell without the heat.

From a 2005 issue of the International Journal if Aromatherapy.

Essential oil of Ginger has been used successfully to treat post-operative nausea and vomiting. The essential oil was delivered pre-op in a 5% solution. Patients without the Ginger Essential oil therapy were 50/50 for having post operative nausea and vomiting while only 20% of thise that had the benefits of Ginger experienced the same. In this study, the essential oil was delivered in a Grapeseed oil carrier naso-cunateously.

Cancer treatment patients that took Ginger orally report a 45% reduction in nausea. From the National Cancer Institute.
