Rose hip oil can be derived from various varietals including Rosa canina. Rosa eglanteria is also called Rosa mosqueta.
This oil from the seeds inside the rose hips is high in essential fatty acids. It is very high in essential fatty acids and is a natural source of retinoic acid. This oil is used to treat burns and scars with remarkable results. Rose hip seed oil is nourishing and improves hydration of the skin. A healthy dermis layer is the key to skin being able to hold onto moisture. Can be used neat to treat significant dermal issues or as a 10-20% addition to a blend.

Rancidity in fatty carrier oils is more likely to occur in oils that have been heat processed, best to chose oils that are cold processed. Even a high quality oil can become rancid.
